Savana is a large dog that even made television news after spending eight months completely isolated on an island, surrounded by bush and the Guaporé River, in the state of Rondônia.
The dog was mercilessly abandoned by her former owner on the spot. During these months, in addition to facing hunger, she was at great risk of being attacked by wild animals, such as jaguars or alligators.

The story became known after a friend of Madalena Souza shared a video on her Instagram account, on December 7, showing a white dog, alone in the middle of the Amazon, on a beach.
“Many people tried to rescue her, but the fear of everything she had lived until then made her very risky and suspicious of everyone who tried to get close to her. However, a generous and patient-hearted soul decided that it was time for all that suffering to end, accepted the challenge to get her off that island “, says a text in the video.

Magdalena was slowly trying to win Savana’s trust with food, until she finally managed to rescue her.
“Gradually, he gained their trust. And after four more hours of trying. Finally she was rescued.”
“And after being left to her own devices for so long, she is safe and happy living with her new family. And once again love won,” she ends by saying the video.

In all, the publication was viewed by more than 126,000 people. In addition, it had 10,000 likes and 1,197 comments.
“What an emotion… I cried here. I would love for all humans to have that humanity with animals.”
“Very moving… I was speechless… God bless you”, highlighted Roger.
“Congratulations for the initiative! May God bless and be an example for many initiatives like this. There’s no way to watch this video and your eyes don’t fill with tears”, observed Anathaly.

In an interview with the Fala Brasil program on TV Record, Madalena said that when they arrived at the place there were already several people who tried to get her out of there, but they couldn’t.
“The fishermen fed her, we saw that she had a bowl of food, but she was very skittish and we couldn’t get to her at all. The most you could get was about 5 or 6 meters away”, explained the woman.

“When we arrived, she came running and I even said to her: ‘we’re going to get you out of here’”, she added with emotion.
Today, Savana is extremely playful and enjoys the warmth of her new home like no one else.
