Depois que seu antigo tutor foi deportado dos Estados Unidos, uma cachorra viveu nove anos embaixo de um contêiner de Los Angeles, Califórnia (EUA), até ser resgatada. A cachorrinha estava com a saúde bem debilitada.
O grupo de resgate de animais Hope For Paws estava resgatando gatinhos ariscos quando encontraram a cadelinha embaixo do contêiner. Foi descoberto também o seu passado dela: seu antigo tutor havia sido deportado nove anos atrás e desde então morava nas ruas sem ter ninguém.
With food and a lot of patience, they managed to get the doguinha out from under the container to check its condition, the situation didn’t look good. She had lost an eye after being hit by a truck and her teeth were broken and rotten.
They took the little dog, named Josephine and nicknamed Pheenie, for a bath and more accurate tests. The result further worried members of the rescue group. In addition, she was diagnosed with discospondylitis, urinary tract infection, and various breast tumors.
After leaving the clinic, Pheenie was taken in by L.A. shelter volunteers. Animal Rescue, as a permanent home. There, she was able to play in the snow, walk in the warm sun and make many friends.
Five months later, lying in front of the warm fireplace, Pheenie passed away peacefully.
