Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem Finjan made a shocking statement during a business trip to Dhi Qar in 2016. He claimed that the Sumerians had their own spaceports and actively traveled around the Solar system.
The Sumerians were an advanced civilization that existed about 7,000 years ago in Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, eventually developing into Babylon and now located in Iraq and Syria.
The Sumerian pyramids are not inferior to the Egyptian pyramids in terms of architecture. Various explanations have been proposed, including urologists’ curiosity, for the function of the Ziggurat, a monumental structure built in ancient Mesopotamia. Nobody expected the minister to make such a statement.
An Iraqi minister claimed that ancient Sumerians traveled to Pluto in spaceships thousands of years ago, according to the report on The Independent website. Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem Finjan told reporters in Dhi Qar in southern Iraq that the world’s first airport was built here around 5,000 BC.
He said the ancient Sumerian civilization, one of the earliest known societies, used the airport for space exploration and even discovered Pluto, according to The New Arab news site. “It’s a strange moment and I don’t think anyone is brave enough to contradict him,” researcher Hayder al-Khoei said after the minister’s statement.
It is believed that the Sumerians settled in the historical region of southern Mesopotamia between 5500 and 4000 BC, where they developed agricultural, trade and craft skills such as weaving, metalworking and pottery.
The New Arab reports that Mr. Finjan refers to the work of Samuel Kramer, a Russian professor and Sumerian expert who studies civilization’s creation myths and writes on their understanding of the solar system.
The ziggurat is a large structure built in ancient Mesopotamia to bring the temple closer to heaven. According to the Mesopotamians, these pyramid temples are considered a link between heaven and earth.
The Sumerians worshiped various gods. To Anu (god of the sky), Enki (god of water, knowledge, mischief, craft and creation), Enlil (Lord of the Wind), Inanna (Queen of Heaven), Utu (god of the sun), and Sin’ They prayed to e (sun god)(moon god).
They invented the wheel, cuneiform, arithmetic, geometry, irrigation, saws and other tools, sandals, chariots, harpoons, beer, and more. Finjan believes the first airports and spaceship platforms were built around 7,000 years ago in the ancient cities of Eridu and Ur.
Unfortunately, the minister did not explain where the Sumerians got this technology and why we have not found evidence of their existence.
